Section 8 NWOKC/Edmond

HI, I'm trying to help my Disabled aunt find a Studio or One Bedroom apartment or ??? Her voucher is under $600 I believe.

Does anyone know of any available rentals, apts, or duplexes that might take this program?

She is currently living at Boulder Creek apartments and management has told her she needs to find another place to live because they are losing money on Section 8 rents.

She has a contract until May but Section 8 deemed that it took too long for the hot water to come on so they told her she had to move!

She is distraught and very upset and I'm trying to help her find something close to her doctors here in NW OKC/ Edmond area.

Any ideas or information?

I have a one bedroom, however, it is upstairs. A tenant lives there and is moving below and then the unit will be vacant. Currently rented s8 - only bill is electric and no lawn maintenance. $400/month. Again, it is upstairs which may be a problem.

The only other thing I have is a three bed and the owner will not take one bedroom rent (especially the way they are comping the area-s8 that is) on a three bedroom.

there are two s8 offices and she can obtain a list of owners from both. some only register for one office. there is also gosection.com where you can register her and look up properties and also post. many people are posting on craig's list as well. be upfront about the disability and s8, it eliminates time.

We got a 1Bd apartment downstairs in NW OKC, all bills paid.

I do have more than one bedroom, however, not knowing if your aunt's disability means she is confined to a wheel chair, etc. makes it difficult to tell address' of properties. The more it takes to rehab, especially for a specific disability, the more a company or owner will not want to do it because it is a commitment on the part of the rehab and the owner.
